Snowballs are mined from the snow layer in cold biomes using a shovel. 4 snowballs will fall from the snow block, and 1 snowball from the snow layer. It is convenient to immediately collect snowballs into blocks for more compact storage, since they are stacked in stacks of only 16 pieces. You can throw snowballs at mobs (right-click), but they will only inflict damage on efreet and Ender's mobs

You can make a snow golem in Ender, so that a layer of snow appears, from which you can make snowballs and throw them at Ender’s dragon.
